Polaris has released Without You, their first new song created following the death of guitarist Ryan Siew in 2023. In announcing the track, the Australian metalcore band described it as a deeply personal step forward, shaped by grief and the reality of continuing without a close friend and bandmate.
The group has said the song is not about replacing Siew or moving past his influence. Instead, it reflects the emotional weight of his absence while recognizing the lasting role he played in the band’s music and identity.
Without You also marks Polaris’ first new music in three years. The release arrives as the band continues performing and preparing for another major appearance in Australia.
Polaris are scheduled to play the Good Things Festival in December 2026, adding another chapter to their return to the stage. For the band, the new song and upcoming performances represent a way to keep creating while continuing to honor Siew’s memory and contribution to their story.
